Improving work to achieve better results is the responsibility of all engaged state employees. Applying Lean knowledge and skills doing work every day and on projects demonstrates progress in the journey to create better value for more Washingtonians.

How are we doing?

Through December 2016, the cumulative total of lean projects is 4,250. Agencies report new projects as well as previously reported projects that are continuing to move through the cycle of continuous problem solving for improvement.

What are we working on?
  • Emphasizing through training that supervisors have the leadership responsibility for teams to achieve continuous improvement through lean thinking
  • Promoting and supporting continuous improvement and lean thinking throughout the state enterprise by hosting training events, highlighting great work and maintaining our private sector partnership
