Session Description:

Change Management is critical for your bottom line. It ensures money isn't being wasted on projects or products that won't be adopted and used. But that's not the only benefit to change management. When done well, change management is one of the most effective tools we have to build trust, strengthen teams, and create the kind of work culture that will continue to attract and keep great people like you.  We'll talk about some of the many ways to apply change management in your life.

Objectives:
  • Understand why change management is important, especially within state agencies.
  • Explore some of the many ways change management can - and arguably should - be used.
  • Leave with some new ideas or plans for small actions you can take today to set yourself, your team, and your agency up for greater success in the future.

Session Description:

Before any assessment or change management, module can be administered, engagement must be created. Engagement is more than an employee's acceptance of a change. It is the precursor to that acceptance. It is about creating real connections. Engagement as a strategy is about purposefully connecting with people who are experiencing change or are about to experience change. It is the foundation for change management success. I will share engagement tips, strategies and experiences from my years as a mental health therapist to my time as a change manager within the state of Washington.
